Core "Generic" or "Shrink wrapped" software cannot be
expected to accommodate all our needs. These
packages have been developed with a majority of industry
needs and business requirements and often neglect the
subtle individual needs of your business.
We have developed a number of utilities that allow us to
create customised software for individual needs.
Case Study:
A Sydney based animal health food company required a
manufacturing program that would use standard Bills Of
Materials (BOMs) but allow flexibility to change
components and quantities produced. The system had
to be easy and automatically update to the powerful
Pastel Partner Accounting system.
They specified a twist, in that the system should record
Batch quantities for reporting.
Using our utilities and knowledge of the Pastel system
we were able to store all the relevant information in
the Pastel database, without the need for an external
data table. We created external routines and user
interface to read the standard BOMs and
give the user the flexibility to change the component
quantities and mixture. At the same time recording
the batch numbers for quality control.
The outcome has been that the client has been able to
abandon a more complex and costly accounting package for
a system that meets their needs.
Case Study:
A Sydney based chemical manufacturing and distribution
company required management reports specific to their
business practices. Over many years the management
had toiled over spreadsheets every month to produce
sales based reporting. These would take hours and
days to produce.
Our solution was to create a suite of Crystal reports.
Crystal reports is a third party data interrogation
package that allow us to drill into the Pastel data and
create management reports. These reports were
based upon the spreadsheets and use parameters and
selection criteria to produce the same information.
Now management need only to refresh the report to get
information in a fraction of the time.
Case Study:
An environmental consultancy firm required an integrated
timesheet entry, job costing, payroll and accounting
system. We created a customised timesheet entry
that integrates with Sage Pastel's Evolution job costing
module and HR3 Payroll.
Staff now only enter their times once and the
information flows quickly and easily to the accounts and
Payroll. The efficiencies have been enormous with
not only the initial entry of information but also the
accuracy of stored information.
ROI here was almost immediate!
